Real life maths

A conversation:

"I hate real life maths."

"Why? Real life sounds interesting"

"But it is not real life. We had to design a theme park."

"That sounds real."

"Maybe if it was that. But who looks for angles after designing a park?"

"I am not sure what you mean. Angles are important to designers."

"But do designers do a whole design and then just circle two right angles and two acute angles? I mean what is the point?"

"I guess that doesn't sound too real."

"Right."

She has a point.

Now that I think of it, what *do* you use acute angles for? Do any better examples even exist? Hmm...

Real life maths is much more fun in the kitchen.

1 egg, plus 1 cup flour plus 1/2 c water plus 1/4 t salt = 12 pancakes.

2 x (1 egg, plus 1 cup flour plus 1/2 c water plus 1/4 t salt) = LOTS of pancakes
